The people of Genesis de l’Ouest are increasing their involvement in community settings. On August 14, this dealership in Sainte-Geneviève-de-Pierrefonds, west of Montreal, participated as a sponsor in the 30th Nova golf tournament, an event which raised $135,000 for the organization at but non-profit Nova home care. Then, on August 26, they took part, again as a sponsor, in the 19th annual Strangers in the Night gastronomic gala, another annual event, this one to benefit the West Island Women's Shelter, the Association of West Island black community and the Shriners Hospital for Children. This gala, it is said, also aroused numerous laudatory comments thanks to phenomenal performances performed, among others, by the funk group Kool & the Gang, the American singer Gloria Gaynor and the African-American singer Crystal Waters.
